New RWA Recognized e-Publisher

I think I'm going to do several short "news" posts tonight. There were some interesting stories this week.

First, RWA has named another e-publisher to its approved publisher list: Loose Id (pronounced "lucid") is the latest of the e-publishers to be recognized in this way.

The following comes from the RWA National website:

To be a "RWA Recognized Publisher," a publisher must be a royalty-paying publishing house that (1) is not a subsidy or vanity press, (2) has been releasing books via national distribution for a minimum of one year, and (3) has sold a minimum of 1,500 hardcover or trade paperback copies or 5,000 copies in any other format, including print on demand, of a single novel or novella or collection of novellas in book form, in bona fide arms-length transactions, and continues to sell a minimum of 1,500 hardcover or trade paperback copies or 5,000 copies in any other format of a subsequent romance novel each year.

I *think* this makes four e-publishers, including Ellora's Cave, Red Sage and Triskelion, besides Loose Id, but I may be wrong.

Visit the Loose Id website here.
